V.A.T. Awarded Transportation Contract

The Union County Board of Developmental Disabilities is responsible for the transportation of preschoolers attending the Harold Lewis Center.  For the past ten years, the Board has contracted with First Student to provide busing for the Harold Lewis Center.  The current contract ends on June 30, 2018.  At the March Board meeting, the Board approved the recommendation of the Transportation Committee to award V.A.T. the contract to provide busing service from July 1, 2018, through June 30, 2023.  Two bids were submitted that were virtually identical, meeting or exceeding all Board requirements with V.A.T.'s bid being significantly lower.  V.A.T. will officially start on July 1, 2018.  Parents and students can meet bus staff and tour the school bus on Meet the Teacher Day.
