The goal of our Sensory Friendly Series is to make each event as inclusive to all people as possible. Some people forgo attending certain viewing experiences, like movies or theatre performances, as there is an expectation of attendees to remain quiet, and attentive, and doing so is difficult for them. Whether you are an individual who has to move around to remain calm or a mother with energetic and loud kiddos, or whatever the case may be, our Sensory Friendly Series is attentive to you!

Join us for Classic Cartoons on the big screen! Tickets are only $2 and these cartoons are perfect for the whole family. We'll have our full concessions available and everyone is welcome. We will also have a limited number of “sensory bags” with fidgets and coloring pages, while supplies last.
With the house lights brought up and the viewing audio brought down (with closed captions in some cases), there is no expectation of anyone to remain seated or quiet, but to just be yourself! This type of viewing experience is made to cater to those who want a more relaxed experience, where everyone who attends knows that they can be comfortable being themselves!
At The Avalon Theatre, we strive to be an inclusive and safe space for everyone in our community. In creating new sensory-friendly events, we are partnering with the Union County Board of Developmental Disabilities, to provide a safe viewing experience for the 1,131 people with disabilities in our local community, and the community at large!
