What is Jot It Down?
Jot It Down is a writing club for adolescents and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Jot It Down members express themselves and learn, make new friends, and enjoy community life.
How does it work?
Members meet weekly for one hour at local bookstores, coffee shops and cafés to write such things as short stories, letters, and blog posts by using electronic tablets, pen and paper, and other tools.
Who can participate?
Anyone can participate, no matter their writing or ability level.
Who leads the clubs?
Trained volunteers facilitate each group. They include students, parents, retirees, people with disabilities, and various community members.

JID members improve literacy skills, enjoy a creative outlet, make friends, take part in the community, and have a lot of fun doing it!
