Hillary Perhot: Tactile Records, a solo exhibition by Ohio photographer Hillary Perhot, will be on view in the Dublin Arts Council gallery, 7125 Riverside Dr., in Dublin from June 19 through July 27, 2018.

Perhot’s studio practice transforms according to sense, nonsense and serious play. In a time of massive image circulation, high-resolution 4k pictures and full-frame digital sensor cameras, Perhot focuses her attention toward tactile, analog methods of photography. The artist records her experiences through lens-less, handmade cameras through which light directly touches the unique paper negative.

Perhot has a Master of Fine Art degree in photography from The Ohio State University and is a faculty member at North Central State College in Mansfield, Ohio.

The exhibition opens with a public reception for the artist on Tuesday, June 19 from 6 to 8 p.m., catered by Dublin Arts Council’s Dublin-based Visual Arts Series catering partner, The Food Smiths. The opening reception and the exhibition are free of charge.
