Columbus Crossing Borders is a traveling exhibition of paintings by 34 local artists, created in response to stories told by refugees. The group exhibition is installed as a mural, with elements of each painting reaching into the next artwork. The exhibition is accompanied by a documentary film, “Breathe Free” by Doug Swift that will be shown in Dublin’s Abbey Theater on May 10 at 6:30 p.m. The exhibition is the second iteration of Dublin Arts Council’s three-year project exploring immigration, integration and identity.
The exhibition will be on view in the Dublin Arts Council (DAC) gallery, 7125 Riverside Dr., in Dublin from May 1 through June 8, 2018. The exhibition opens with a public reception for the artists on Tuesday, May 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. The opening reception and the exhibition are free of charge.
