The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and the Jazz Arts Group are teaming up to heat up your summer with some cool Jazz during this JazZoo Concert Series. This event is presented by Cardinal Health and Drive Germain with support by HBK CPAs and Consultants. All concerts feature the many talents of Artistic Director Byron Stripling and the Columbus Jazz Orchestra.
All four concerts of the series will be held at the Water's Edge Events Park at the Columbus Zoo. Gates will open at 6:30 PM and concerts will begin at 8:00 PM
July 13: "Swingin' & Singin' The American Songbook" In her stunning one of a kind style, Carmen Bradford Delivers timeless classics from the Great American Songbook plus heartfelt pop and soul favorites.
July 20: "The Best of Bobby Floyd" Bobby takes command of the B3 Hammond organ and acoustic piano in this whirlwind of his greatest hits from hard swinging jazz to down home gospel and more with the CJO and guest singer and muli-instrumentalist, Milton Ruffin.
August 3: "Sinatra and Friends" Swing to great melodies made famous by "Old Blue Eyes" along with memorable tunes from the era he influenced featuring guest vocalists Phil Clark and Helen Welch.
August 10: "Classic Soul & Pop Hits" Vocal powerhouse and former "Sounds of Blackness" lead singer Quan Howell, and Columbus's favorite piano man, Dave Powers perform songs of Billy Joel, Elton John, Al Green and many more.
