    Let the creativity flow at the historic Dublin Arts Center!
    The second event in Dublin Arts Council’s Art & Wellness Discovery Series will occur on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the historic Dublin Arts Center, 7125 Riverside Drive in Dublin. Dublin Arts Center’s rolling landscape and sweeping views of the Scioto River inspire the event’s theme of “flow.” Components of the ‘flow’ experience are designed to promote immersion, focus and enjoyment while connecting members of the community in creative exploration.
    During the Flow event, guests will be able to immerse themselves in visual art, sound and movement activities designed to promote calmness, deep enjoyment and a balanced feeling of well-being and tranquility.
    Planned activities include:
    • Creation of custom poems on vintage typewriters by Typewriter Rodeo of Austin, Texas,
    • Contemporary calligraphy with NatterDoodle
    • Japanese calligraphy with Sonoko Fukagawa,
    • Instruction by retired Dublin City Schools’ art teacher Sue Andrews in suminagashi, the art of Japanese paper marbling,
    • Dance Karoake, with Flux + Flow,
    • Restorative yoga instruction hosted by Will Varnum of Syntero counseling services,
    • Juicing demonstration by Dublin City Council member John Reiner,
    • De-stressing workshops utilizing Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) by Amy Ryan Rued of Tapping With Friends,
    • Samples from the Smoothie Bike, and more.
    Event activities will fill the Dublin Art Council parking lot, which will be closed to vehicles. Complimentary round-trip shuttle service will be provided from free event parking at Dublin Scioto High School, 4000 Hard Rd., Dublin.

  • PJS And Eggs: A Celebration Of Breakfast For Dinner

    Sunny Street Cafe (and other participating restaurants) 7042 Hospital Dr, Dublin
    Calling all breakfast lovers of the world!  On Thursday, October 24, Sunny Street Cafe and other participating restaurants will be hosting a "Breakfast for Dinner" Celebration.  The event is sponsored by the Ohio Egg Marketing Program and Ohio egg farmers.  Diners are asked to bring one pair of children's pajamas (sizes newborn through 12) to donate to Nationwide Children's Hospital, in exchange for a dozen fresh Ohio eggs.  The participating restaurants will reopen from 5 pm until close and diners will be able to order from their regular menus.  
    Wearing pajamas is encouraged, the more outrageous the better!

    Length: 2.8 miles / 4507 meters
    Location: Griggs Reservoir, from Hayden Run Bridge to Fishinger Bridge, Columbus, Ohio
    The Speakmon Memorial regatta has become one of the most popular and challenging fall rowing events in the Midwest.  The course curves along the natural riverscape of the Scioto River, set against a multi-paletted backdrop of fall foliage.  With walking paths along the river's edge for multiple observation opportunities, the Speakmon is both a participant and spectator's delight.  Highlights include:
    • Collegiate category for NCAA compliance
    • Mixed categories shall be defined as no less than 50% women, Coxswains may be of either gender
    • All entries must be made online using Regatta Central
    • Masters AA category rowers can row in masters events (as long as boats average 27)
    • 2.8 miles head-style competition for oarswomen and oarsmen
    • Singles, doubles, pairs, quads, fours and eights events
    • Junior High/High School, Open, Masters, Lightweight and Novice events
    • Event times listed are for planning purposes only.  A final event schedule will be issued to all crews once the entry window closes.  However, the event schedule will not be compressed closer than those times listed in the event schedule.

    Dublin Arts Council 7125 Riverside Dr, Dublin
    Cuba in Columbus represents a multi-event, multi-venue group of exhibitions showcasing the work of 107 artists from central Ohio and Cuba. Artwork from Ohio artists who recently exhibited their artwork in Cuba will be on display with works from additional Columbus and Cuban artists at 33 art institutions, galleries, and public venues throughout Columbus as part of Cuba in Columbus from Oct. 1 to Nov. 15, 2019.
    Dublin Arts Council, a project collaborator, is hosting an exhibition including photographs by Celia Gonzalez and Yunior Aguiar (Celia y Yunior), a 1961 collection of political cartoon woodcut prints by a Cuban artists’ collective, and poetry by Ohio artists Barbara Fant and Fontane Tripp at Dublin Arts Council (DAC), 7125 Riverside Dr., Dublin. A reception will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019, from 6 to 8 p.m. at DAC. The exhibition, which remains on view through Nov. 15, and reception are free of charge.
