    Connect: Public Art & Wellness Challenge

    Dublin Arts Council 7125 Riverside Dr, Dublin
    As part of its Art & Wellness initiative, Dublin Arts Council is launching the “Connect: Public Art & Wellness Challenge” that connects the community to the environment, public art and community wellness. Ohio artists will create new artworks that respond to each of Dublin’s 16 RiverboxesTM -- small-scale public artworks inspired by the hobbies of geocaching and letterboxing. A challenge booklet will serve as a guide and interactive journal with geographic clues, prompts for wellness and creative engagement by three additional artists, and resources from community partners. Booklets will be made available through “ARTboxes,” inspired by the “little libraries” concept and installed throughout the community. Challenge booklets will also be available via download at https://dublinarts.org/featured-items/connect.

    The project, supported in part by grants from the City of Dublin, Cardinal Health Foundation, Ohio Arts Council and Puffin Foundation West, Ltd., also celebrates the 30th anniversary of Leatherlips by Boston sculptor Ralph Helmick. The 12-foot-tall limestone portrait of the Wyandot chief is the first artwork in Dublin’s Art in Public Places program, dedicated in Scioto Park in 1990.

    • Haunted Trail 
    • Storybook Walk 
    • Pumpkin Sign Hunt 
    • Hay Maze 
    • Creepy Crafts and Games

    Dublin will host some of Central Ohio’s best food trucks this summer in Coffman Park. Each truck will be open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and dinner from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

  • Developmental Screening - Open to Public

    This is a developmental screening for all children ages birth – 5 years of age who live in Union County. Screening includes communication, problem solving, and fine & gross motor skills.

    All children are encouraged to attend, particularly those whose
    parents are concerned about their child’s development.

  • Don Staufenburg: Ceramic Infusion

    Dublin Arts Council 7125 Riverside Dr, Dublin
    Inspired by the artist’s background as a product designer with Herman Miller furniture, Rubbermaid and Fitch, Inc., Don Staufenberg’s solo exhibition Ceramic Infusion melds experiences and influences to produce an integration of wood, metal, fiber and polymer with ceramics to create a unique tactile visual. An investigation of layers, textures and colors, combined with exploration of the relationship between elements creates meaningful and visually stimulating artworks. Originally from Long Island, New York, Staufenberg earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design from Kent State University, Kent, Ohio. He is a university guest lecturer and design consultant, based in Dublin, Ohio.

  • Veterans Day Ceremony

    Veterans Park 77 North High St, Dublin
    The City of Dublin, in partnership with the Wesley G. Davids Dublin Post 800 of the American Legion, will host a virtual Veterans Day ceremony Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at 11 a.m. The virtual ceremony video will be posted on the City's website and social media channels to honor our country's veterans. 
    In addition to the virtual ceremony, Dublin residents and visitors can also commemorate those who served our nation with a walk through the Grounds of Remembrance at Dublin Veterans Park in downtown Dublin. For those who have not visited the park or are unable to visit in person, a new video tour, guided by Dublin resident and US Army Veteran Mike Kehoe, will be shared to social media and on the City of Dublin’s new microsite dedicated to honoring Dublin’s Veterans. Both the park video tour and website will launch on Veterans Day at DublinVeterans.com.
    The Grounds of Remembrance in Dublin Veterans Park is located at 77 N. High Street just north of the Dublin Library. Free parking is available in the Indian Run and Darby Street parking lots, or the Library garage.

    As part of its Art & Wellness initiative, Dublin Arts Council is launching the “Connect: Public Art & Wellness Challenge” that connects the community to the environment, public art and community wellness. Ohio artists will create new artworks that respond to each of Dublin’s 16 RiverboxesTM -- small-scale public artworks inspired by the hobbies of geocaching and letterboxing. A challenge booklet will serve as a guide and interactive journal with geographic clues, prompts for wellness and creative engagement by three additional artists, and resources from community partners. Booklets will be made available through “ARTboxes,” inspired by the “little libraries” concept and installed throughout the community.     Original Productions Theatre (OPT) and the Abbey Theater of Dublin, as part of its ongoing Virtual Theatre Project, will present the world premiere production of “go to coda,” written by Columbus-based playwright Dave Morgan. The production will stream on-demand online from Nov. 20 through Nov. 29, 2020.

    Worrell P. McConnell sits in the back yard of his country farmhouse and waits for his missing dog to return home when he suffers a seizure that sends him into an unconscious state. While his body is inactive, his consciousness and his instinct become personified, meet, and try to figure a way to get their body ambulatory and into the house ahead of an oncoming snow storm.

    As part of its Art & Wellness initiative, Dublin Arts Council is launching the “Connect: Public Art & Wellness Challenge” that connects the community to the environment, public art and community wellness. Ohio artists will create new artworks that respond to each of Dublin’s 16 RiverboxesTM -- small-scale public artworks inspired by the hobbies of geocaching and letterboxing. A challenge booklet will serve as a guide and interactive journal with geographic clues, prompts for wellness and creative engagement by three additional artists, and resources from community partners. Booklets will be made available through “ARTboxes,” inspired by the “little libraries” concept and installed throughout the community.     The project, supported in part by grants from the City of Dublin, Cardinal Health Foundation, Ohio Arts Council and Puffin Foundation West, Ltd., also celebrates the 30th anniversary of Leatherlips by Boston sculptor Ralph Helmick. The 12-foot-tall limestone portrait of the Wyandot chief is the first artwork in Dublin’s Art in Public Places program, dedicated in Scioto Park in 1990.
