Flow: An Art & Wellness Discovery Series Event

Dublin Arts Council 7125 Riverside Dr, Dublin
Let the creativity flow at the historic Dublin Arts Center!
The second event in Dublin Arts Council’s Art & Wellness Discovery Series will occur on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the historic Dublin Arts Center, 7125 Riverside Drive in Dublin. Dublin Arts Center’s rolling landscape and sweeping views of the Scioto River inspire the event’s theme of “flow.” Components of the ‘flow’ experience are designed to promote immersion, focus and enjoyment while connecting members of the community in creative exploration.
During the Flow event, guests will be able to immerse themselves in visual art, sound and movement activities designed to promote calmness, deep enjoyment and a balanced feeling of well-being and tranquility.
Planned activities include:
  • Creation of custom poems on vintage typewriters by Typewriter Rodeo of Austin, Texas,
  • Contemporary calligraphy with NatterDoodle
  • Japanese calligraphy with Sonoko Fukagawa,
  • Instruction by retired Dublin City Schools’ art teacher Sue Andrews in suminagashi, the art of Japanese paper marbling,
  • Dance Karoake, with Flux + Flow,
  • Restorative yoga instruction hosted by Will Varnum of Syntero counseling services,
  • Juicing demonstration by Dublin City Council member John Reiner,
  • De-stressing workshops utilizing Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) by Amy Ryan Rued of Tapping With Friends,
  • Samples from the Smoothie Bike, and more.
Event activities will fill the Dublin Art Council parking lot, which will be closed to vehicles. Complimentary round-trip shuttle service will be provided from free event parking at Dublin Scioto High School, 4000 Hard Rd., Dublin.
