HLC Closure Extended

The latest update regarding Harold Lewis Center and COVID-19.

April 1, 2020

Dear Harold Lewis Center Families,

As most of you are aware, Governor DeWine signed an extension of his order closing schools through May 1, 2020.  Harold Lewis Center will follow this order and close our building through May 1, 2020.  Your safety the safety of our employees, and the safety of our community is our number one priority.

We know this is an unusual time and we are all adjusting to this new way of living and learning. Even though our buildings are closed, we are committed to educating your children. Here are some of the things that are happening:

  • Scheduled meetings with you will be held by phone.
  • Videos will be created where we read to your student.
  • Activities will be shared that you can do at home with your student.
  • Electronic options like Facebook, website, and other online learning options will be used to deliver information.
  • Teachers and therapists will be contacting you to determine your preferred method of communication during this time.

Thank you for your patience as we navigate this new environment along with you.

If you have questions about education please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher.  If you have questions about support please do not hesitate to contact your Service Consultant or UCBDD.  We are here for you if you need us.

We encourage all of you to practice social distancing and stay home as much as possible.  Together we are “flattening the curve.”

Sincerely,

Kara Brown
Superintendent
