• How do I make a referral for my child for Early Intervention services?

• Who is eligible for Early Intervention services?

  To be eligible for Early Intervention services a child must be: a Union County resident, under three years of age, and have a delay in one or more of the following areas of development: cognition, communication, social/emotional, adaptive skills, motor, or difficulty with vision, hearing and/or medical status.

• What happens when a child is referred for Early Intervention services?

  A thorough evaluation is completed in every area of development (fine motor, gross motor, communication, and self help) by a team of professionals.  Following the evaluation the results are shared with the family, at which time it is determined if the child is eligible to receive services.

• Where are Early Intervention services provided?

  In the Childs natural environment- could be the Childs home, day care setting, or community settings.

• I am moving into Union County, can I transfer my child to the Union County Early Intervention program?

  No, all children referred to the Early Intervention Program must be evaluated to determine eligibility for services.

• Is there a cost?

  Early Intervention services are funded through a combination of local, state, and federal public funds.  This may include private of public health insurance.

• What are the hours for Early Intervention?

  Early Intervention services are scheduled individually with families.  The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

• Where is Early Intervention located?

  Early Intervention is located in the Union County Board of DD Campus at 1280 Charles Lane in Marysville, Ohio.

• Does HLC EI offer any group activities for 2 year olds?

  The Early Intervention program provides a playgroup for any child in Union County. Tots in Tow sessions are held weekly, and children enrolled in the Early Intervention program may participate at no cost. For more information about the playgroup, please contact Amanda Morgan at 614-674-4829.

• What are the qualifications of the Early Intervention staff?

  Developmental Specialists possess a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and are licensed by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities in Early Intervention. Speech Language Pathologists possess a minimum of a Master's Degree and are licensed by the Ohio Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.  Occupational and Physical Therapists possess a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and are licensed by the Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical therapy, and Athletic Trainers Board.
